American Rapper Killer Mike gets arrested after winning 3(three) Grammys.

Rapper Killer Mike was imprisoned soon after receiving three Grammy awards.

Shortly after taking home three Grammy awards on Sunday night, rapper Killer Mike, real name Michael Render, was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge.

Police apprehended and handcuffed Render shortly after 4 p.m. PT. He was arrested by police for allegedly getting into a physical confrontation near the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, which is one of the streets that is close to the stadium, the site of the Grammy Awards.

After being arrested, Render was brought to Central Division.

His charge was misdemeanor battery.

Render was being released, according to statements made by the authorities late on Sunday night.

An ABC News request for comment was not immediately answered by the artist’s representative.

Rapper Killer Mike took home Grammys for best song, best rap performance, and best album for “Michael,” his song “Scientists & Engineers.”

This narrative is still evolving. Return for updates.

Shortly after winning three of the four rap categories during the pre-show portion of the ceremony, the rapper, whose actual name is Michael Render, was led out of the Arena in handcuffs. It is unknown, though, what the officers had him jailed for.

Chris Gardner of The Hollywood Reporter posted a video of the incident on X, which was formerly Twitter. He wrote: “Breaking: Rapper Killer Mike was taken away in handcuffs from the arena after winning three Grammy Awards during the telecast.”

As he passes by, “Free Mike” (Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists Engineers,” Best Rap Album for Michael) is yelled by someone.

“An official tells someone on his team that it’s possible he may be released later tonight from the arena. Unclear if he’s being booked here and what he’s charged with. Trying to find out. #Grammys”

He subsequently wrote: “Just spoke to an official who tells me it’s a misdemeanor and has nothing to do with anything that happened today here inside the arena. Likely he will be released once it’s sorted. “It’s a big nothing,” source says.(sic)”

A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department has not yet responded.

Mike was briefly arrested after discussing his victories, which had come more than 20 years after his career started, with the media backstage.

He exclaimed, “It feels really magnificent.” Don’t panic if it seems like some people are crossing the finish line ahead of you. Continue running your race. Your imagination is the only thing standing in your way. It is our duty to act with dignity at all times.
