The former singer-turned-pastor and politician Banky W thanks his wife Adesua during the speech at church.

The performer and preacher thanked his wife before boldly discussing his past struggles with porn at a sermon on Sunday, June 25, 2023, with the title “The prison of pornography.”

He pointed to his wife, Adesua Etomi, who was sitting in the front row and stated, “If I don’t thank God for anything in my life, I thank God for this woman.

Banky W emphasized the value of having a trustworthy friend while pleading with the congregation to do so. He counseled them, “Pick the right person that you can talk to.”

In his speech, he discussed his struggles, stressing instances when, in order to maintain his resolve and resist the temptation to view adult videos, he would constantly contact his wife and talk to her on the phone for extended periods of time.

When comparing the human brain to a powerful machine during his sermon, Banky W said, “You decide which thoughts to focus on. You decide what comes in, what goes out, and what gets to stay.”

He continued by outlining ways to resist the urge.

In his words, “You can not wheel a thought out of your mind. You can not get it out of your mind because it has been suggested to you. You can only replace it with a more powerful thought. You can only replace the thoughts that the devil suggests with a truth that God says. So you’ll renew your mind with the words of God.”
