BBN Ex- House Mate Advises Public: Don't go for BB Naija if you are not mentally stable.

If you’re not mentally stable, don’t pursue “BBNaija,” according to former housemate Doyin.

“If you have issues with your mental health, I would not advise you to go on that show,” she cautions.

Doyin David, a Big Brother Naija alum, has said that participating in the reality program has a negative impact on one’s mental health.

She recently discussed the effect of the reality show on the housemate’s mental health on the Morning Brief Show. Although she acknowledged the financial benefits of being on the show, she issued a warning to anyone who might be at risk for mental health issues.

In the interview, David said: “If I talk about finance, I can’t complain; it’s been good. The mental health part post-show, I keep saying it. If you’re not mentally grounded and you’re not sure about who you are and what type of person you are and you have issues with your mental health, I would not advise you to go on that show.”

Focusing on the tremendous scrutiny and criticism housemates suffer after leaving the program, the reality TV personality went into detail about the difficulties they confront. David brought attention to the loss of free speech that accompanies sudden celebrity, when all facets of an individual’s life are open to public judgment.

“As much as it can make you, it can also break you because there’s a lot of criticism about your life and everyone has an opinion about what you wear, what you do, who you date, what you say, things that regular people and nobody would care. Just know that once you come out of the show, you no longer have freedom of speech like that,” David advised.

She emphasized in her closing remarks that, despite the drawbacks and advantages of appearing on the show, the benefits much exceed the drawbacks.
