Chinedu Ikedieze describes late Ada Ameh in the " Johnsons" as a true mother.

The murder of his coworker Ada Ameh devastated both the veteran Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze and the whole cast of the hit sitcom “The Johnsons,” according to Ikedieze.

Ada Ameh passed away on July 17, 2022, in Warri, Delta State, just two years after losing her sole child, Ladi Ameh, according to LEADERSHIP.

Ada Ameh played Emu, the matriarch of the Johnson family, in the titular series up until her passing.

Ikedieze, who played the first son of the family in the sitcom and was recently interviewed by Chude Jideonwo, stated that the late Ameh was like a mother to them and emphasized that she removed her role as a mother from the series.

When he learned that Ada Ameh had died away, he said: “It was very painful for me. Ada was like a mother, you know. She removed the Emu character from the picture. I’ve encountered her several times outside of production, and each time someone would remark, “See your pikin,” to her.

Therefore, her death seemed like I had lost a piece of myself. I wanted no part of that news or knowledge. All of us on “The Johnsons” thought that was the biggest shock of our lives, and it permanently damaged us.

“After she passed away, we stopped producing. But I give God the glory that we were able to gather our thoughts and make a decision. We didn’t even think that “The Johnsons,” which lost Ada, would continue because Emuakpor is an essential part of any discussion of “The Johnsons.” Emu, a character played by Ada, is therefore difficult to remove from “The Johnsons.”

However, I have no idea how it came about that we are still bubbling. We see her every day, and her photographs are in the room, so it was challenging. People sometimes start crying when you visit the location and view her images, you know. It is tough. Very hard.”
