Jamie Foxx is recovering from a stroke in a hospital in Atlanta. According to sources with firsthand information, the 55-year-old adored actor had a “medical emergency” on Tuesday morning and was taken to the hospital.
He is in an intensive care unit recovering from surgery.
Jamie, whose true name is Eric Marlon Bishop, was reportedly in Atlanta filming “Back in Action” alongside Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
On Monday, April 11, a photo of Jamie on the Back in Action set was taken.
Jamie’s family members traveled in from out of town to be by his bedside because his health was so critical.
According to a source who spoke to TMZ, “He’s communicating now, and that’s good news.”
Corinne Foxx, an actress and Jamie’s daughter, informed TMZ that his condition is already getting better.
On Wednesday, Corinne posted on Instagram:
“We wanted to let you know that yesterday, my father, Jamie Foxx, had a medical issue. Fortunately, he is already making a full recovery thanks to prompt intervention and excellent care.
We are grateful for your prayers and are aware of how loved he is. The family requests discretion at this time.
