The Federal Government should make sure that domestic filmmakers have easy access to funding so they can develop movies, according to seasoned Nollywood actress Joke Silva.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, Silva placed the call.
“Over the years, filmmakers have found it difficult to access funds to produce films, a development government needs to wade into to encourage filmmakers,” she added.
She states that new channels should be established and that the Bank of Industry (BOI) is primarily responsible for providing funding to filmmakers.
The obstacles that stand in our way of obtaining the funding necessary to produce films shouldn’t be too high; instead. Efficient channels for refunding the money should be established in order to prevent depletion of the source.
