Juliana Olayode (Toyosi) reunites with Funke Akindele on a new movie set.

After leaving Jenifa’s Dairy, Juliana “Toyo Baby” Olayode joins Funke Akindele for a new film six years later.

For the latter new film, A Tribe Called Judah, actress Juliana Olayode, often known as Toyo Baby, reconnected with filmmaker. Funke Akindele six years after her contentious departure from Funke’s popular series Jenifa’s Dairy.

On Monday, Juliana shared a preview for the upcoming movie on Instagram along with news of her reunion with Funke’s Scene One TV crew.

“The Box Office Queen” is how the character’s actress referred to her mentor.

“Get to know the characters in A TRIBE CALLED JUDAH!!” she wrote. On December 15, #atribecalledjudah will be released in theaters! Prepare yourself!

“My mother doesn’t play @funkejenifaakindele, the box office QUEEN is at it again.”

The actress Juliana, who portrayed Toyosi in Jenifa’s Diary, was fired in 2017 due to purported financial difficulties.

She was fired from the show as a result, and her relationship with Funke became strained.

But in a long Instagram apologetic post in May 2023, the 27-year-old said that her lack of understanding of the movie business was the reason she had harmed Funke, whom she described as a miracle God had used to bring her to fame.

She said that Funke’s relationship was destroyed after receiving an uninvited email from her guardian.

“My visibility came from God through Aunty Funke Akindele @funkejenifaakindele.” I was shocked to learn that the level of recognition I attained from portraying Toyosi in Jenifa’s Diary was too great for me to comprehend, especially at that young age when I had just finished secondary school.

My connection with Funke Akindele was destroyed by my guardian, Juliana Olayode

However, I began to exhibit a lack of industry knowledge, in addition to having a manager as a guardian who was ignorant of the workings of the entertainment business, and I blindly accepted what he said and felt.

“The creators of Scene One TV, the sitcom whose whole plot I was unaware of until lately, received an email from my guardian.

“There is no way to fully describe my mistakes during my career’s early stages. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Aunty Funke Akindele, ọmọdé ò lè mọ ẹ̀kọ́ jẹ, kó má ra lọ́wọ́, for the hurt I caused you and the hurt caused by the email that was sent,” she wrote.

In her final message, Juliana also made a suggestion that she would return to the show.

Celebrities such as Mo Bimpe, Toyin Adewale, and Faithia Williams have also made remarks.

“I’m grateful, Aunty Funke.” God bless you abundantly in the future.
