Nigerian Movie Actress: Kehinde Bankole takes on her lead role in Adire.

The movie is the first original production from FilmOne Entertainment, which also developed and produced several notable films. Like Aki & Pawpaw, Fate of Alakada, Ghost, The Tout, Prophetess, and The Wedding Party.
The film, which was written by Jack’enneth Opukeme, is on a young fashion entrepreneur who had worked as a prostitute and now has to deal with the repercussions of her past.
According to Opukeme, the film is “a theatrical portrayal of young women’s struggles in today’s world, interpreted by actors. Who resonated with its message and were kind enough to allow their vulnerability to bring authenticity to its unreserved emotions, humor, and overall grandeur.”
Adeoluwa ‘Captain Degzy’ Owu, who previously worked as the cinematographer for Netflix programs including Shanty Town (2023), Far From Home (2022), and the motion picture The Griot (2021), is in charge of directing the film. The forthcoming movie What No One Knows will also be directed by Owu. Photographer Emmanuel Igbekele Odihiri is in charge of the movie’s photography.
Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Kelechi Udegbe, Femi Branch, Yemi Blaq, Tomi Ojo, Mike Afolarin, Ifeanyi Kalu, Ibrahim Chatta, Lizzy Jay, Idowu Phillips, Yvonne Jegede, Jack’enneth Opukeme, and Layi Wasabi. An internet comic making his film debut, are among the actors in the ensemble of Adire. The movie’s filming, which took place at several Ibadan locations, was finished last August.
Following her starring character in Biodun Stephen’s Sista (2022), Bankole plays the title role in Adire. The movie has received a lot of positive reviews and is currently at number one on Prime Video Naija.
Her most recent projects include voicing a character in the upcoming Disney anime anthology Kizazi Moto. Generation Fire as well as appearing in the series Blood Sisters (2022), Inkblot’s The Set Up (2019), and Blood Sisters.
