As the inaugural No. 1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart, the first regional streaming chart in the globe, the singer’s smash hit song “Calm Down” made history.

This information was disclosed in a post that the artist published on his statistics Twitter account on Saturday.

“Calm Down by #heisrema marks entry into the Guinness Book as it has won the First No. 1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart (the world’s first regional streaming chart) Record,” the statement stated.

The singer of “Dumebi” began performing with Alpha P in churches. In 2018, Rema shared a trending freestyle to D’Prince’s song “Gucci Gang” on Instagram. D’Prince saw the message and flew him to Lagos to offer the young musician a record deal. In 2019, Rema agreed to a record deal with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a division of Mavin Records owned by music executive Don Jazzy. The self-titled first EP “Rema” that he later released reached the top spot on Apple Music Nigeria. The music video for “Dumebi,” a standout track from his self-titled EP, featuring a cameo by Diana Eneje, was released on May 21 by Jonzing World and Mavins.
