Seun Kuti says that people are trying to kill him for saying the truth and he also explains how Nigeria will be unable to change in the next three years.
Seun Kuti: “People are trying to kill me for telling the truth.”
He said that attempts had been made to damage his reputation.
The contentious Nigerian artist Seun Kuti said in a recent post that people are trying to kill him because he speaks the truth.
On Sunday, February 4, 2024, the singer posted snippets from a book titled “Blaming the Victim” on his Instagram account. He said that the book’s main points were still relevant today.
According to Kuti, people are attempting to take his life because of his dedication to expressing the truth. He addressed the continuous difficulties he runs into when speaking out against perceived injustices and talked candidly about the difficulties he faces in being vocal and offering his opinions on important matters.
“I’ll make it known here today. It is their goal to silence me in this nation. I am battling alone in too many wars to count. I am at a loss as to how many cases are pending in court and how many police invitations are sent out for no reason at all. In the video, Kuti said, “Everyone is inviting the police on me for just saying the truth.”
However the performer went on to underscore the severity of the difficulties he confronts, claiming that there have been multiple attempts to damage his reputation and undermine his work. He bemoaned the suffering he goes through merely to voice his genuine thoughts, saying.
“Because I am saying the truth, they are trying to destroy and kill me. They are trying to bring me down and tarnish my name. It’s not easy.”
After pointing out that people who speak truth to power have always endured hardship, Seun Kuti continued her analysis by drawing comparisons between historical personalities and themselves. “They have been silencing speakers of the truth since 705 BC,” he emphasized, highlighting the long-standing trend of suppressing people who are critical of the established quo.
