Simi says she has never experienced any heart break.
This was said by the performer, popularly known as Simisola Kosoko, during a recent interview with reality sensation Tacha on Lagos’ Cool FM.
The singer made it clear in the interview that her most recent song, Stranger, which is about heartbreak, was not motivated by personal experiences.
She emphasized that she represents individuals who have experienced heartbreak, expressing sympathy for their tribulations.
I don’t know, that song, Stranger, came to me quite effortlessly. I guess, maybe I’m just a champion for folks who have taken breakfasts multiple times. I’m here for them. I mean, somebody has to be. I don’t think I have ever been heartbroken.
Simi went on to say that she often thinks about love and feels drawn to the subject.
The thought of being in a relationship where one has changed so much that they find themselves accepting or adjusting. To things they wouldn’t ordinarily do, was a viewpoint she hadn’t before examined, and she immediately recognized it.
She talked of the sensation of no longer recognizing oneself when gazing in the mirror.
“You just feel like you’ve changed so much and you are doing things, accepting things, or adapting to things that. Typically you would never would, like you’re in a relationship, they haven’t even given you breakfast yet. Then one day you realize you don’t recognize the person in the mirror when you look in it, she said.
The singer thought that many people who are now experiencing heartbreak would be able to relate to this viewpoint.
In order to establish a relatable and deep connection with her audience, she sought to accurately convey that emotional experience in her song.
Simi is the stage name of Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, a prominent Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music producer.
