AKA Shot dead in Durban.
Award-winning rapper Kiernan Jarred Forbes popularly known as AKA tragically died after he was shot at point-blank range in the back of his head in Florida Road, Durban, on Friday night.
Durban police have confirmed the death of the 35-year-old rapper on the scene.
According to IOL, AKA was reportedly standing outside Wish Restaurant at about 22:00. When he was approached by a gunman who shot him “execution style” before fleeing the scene on foot.
Apparently there was also a second gunman and his close friend and celeb chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane who was with him at the time, was also shot and killed while his bodyguard has been wounded.
AKA was due to perform at a Durban night club YUGO as part of his birthday celebrations later that night.

Take a look at footage which has since emerged on social media. It shows the rapper’s movement’s from when he posted being on the way to Durban, getting a hair cut and having dinner at Wish restaurant before the fatal shooting.
Then there is the shocking CCTV footage which has since become public.
In the video, a man wearing a white beanie walks towards AKA and Motsoane, while they are hugging, and fires a single shot to AKA’s head, who died instantly. The gunman then runs across the road and disappears. It is unclear at this stage when and who killed Motsoane.
According to IOL, Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed that the province’s organised crime unit had taken over the investigations.
