Zainab Balogun explains how medical disorder affected her marriage.

Zainab Balogun, a Nollywood actress, recently discussed her long-running fight with endometriosis and the major effects it had on her marriage.

The actress spoke up to media personality Chude Jideonwo in a private talk about the medical condition that had plagued her for more than 20 years.

Endometriosis is a disorder in which the uterine lining tissue spreads outside of the uterus, causing symptoms like excruciating pain, profuse bleeding, irregular periods, and possibly impaired fertility.

Balogun bravely shared the difficulties she encountered as a result of her illness and gave gratitude to her husband Dikko Nwachukwu for his continuous support all along the way.

You know, you have to take the village mentality when it comes to dealing with something as big as this. You realize that you are going to need the therapist, the back-rubber, and the make-me-laugh person. So, it would be hard to do something like this alone [without the support of my husband]. Not even just because of the physical difficulties.

The actress touched on her choice to withhold images from her 2018 wedding in addition to talking about her struggle with endometriosis.

She stated, “I didn’t share my wedding photos. I don’t know who did it. The only person who had permission to share one image, which was kind of like a beauty image, was my make-up artist. I was very comfortable with nobody seeing an image from my wedding. I mean, my personal life is very personal. It’s not out there for public consumption because that is not my work, that’s my life.” She also expressed her desire to keep her private life private.

Model, television host, and actress from Nigeria named Zainab Balogun has made notable appearances in a number of Nollywood productions, including God Calling, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, and Sylvia.
